Seaside Towns Initiative

This report is designed to establish the success of the ‘Cross-Border Seaside Towns Initiative’- a joint cross border local authority project part-financed by the European Union through the Interreg IIIA Programme managed for t he Special EU Programmes Body by the ICBAN Partnership , this Initiative is hoped to have enhanced the profile and significance of the seaside towns along side the tourism SME’s in each of the council areas of Sligo, Donegal, Coleraine, Moyle and Larne.

This funding resulted in major infrastructural works being undertaken in these picturesque seaside locations with the aim of enhancing the profile and significance of the seaside towns in each of the council areas of Sligo, Donegal, Coleraine, Moyle and Larne.

130 Tourism SME’s were contacted and asked to partake in this study, the results of which are included in the Research report compiled by Sinead Canning, Institute of Technology Sligo. 31 Tourism SME’s responded and as a token of our appreciation and with their permission their website details have been included as follows.
